Mark W. Childs is the vice president of Tax for Edison International and Southern California Edison (SCE). He is responsible for overseeing all tax functions at the companies, including audits and appeals, tax planning, disclosures, ratemaking and tax legislation.

Prior to his current role, Childs was director of Tax, where he oversaw all aspects of accounting for income taxes at both Edison International and SCE. His responsibilities included managing income tax matters in regulatory filings and serving as a witness in numerous CPUC and FERC rate-making proceedings.

Before joining SCE in 2010, Childs served as senior director at Mattel, Inc., where he led the tax compliance team responsible for the global accounting for income taxes, all federal and state income tax filings, and all tax controversy work interacting with the IRS and state auditors.

Childs holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Pepperdine University.
